| SHIWARA-old CREW | | | Captain: David Murray | Nationality: British | | Number of Crew 2 | | Crew Profiles: After Dave and Colette Murray enjoyed some Caribbean sailing, they realized that they just might be able to sustain the interesting and eclectic lifestyle they'd grown to love aboard their own sloop, but quickly saw that a larger more commodious sailing yacht was the way to go. Soon sailing yacht Shiwara hove to in their sights.
Together Dave and Colette have sailing experiences in all kinds of conditions and with over 25,000 miles in their yacht log books, (including 21 days non stop sailing during an Atlantic crossing!) safety is their first priority. Dave is an RYA Yacht master, commercially endorsed, and also holds a Medical Certificate and is a first class engineer. Colette is a first class hostess and also holds her Ship's Captains Medical Certificate.
Dave and Colette were both brought up in Liverpool, a city famous for its sense of humour (though some would say its famous for the Beatles), and both are a pleasure to be around and sailing with. They have had so many sailing adventures together getting from Windermere in Cumbria (England's famed "Lake District") to the British Virgin Islands that they've written and published a book called It's Funny But It's True which is available for sale on the internet.
Colette Murray
Colette is a superb cook and can cater for any unusual culinary requests you may have. She is a first class hostess and a talented cook, and if she can find the ingredients in whatever port you end up in she will happily cater for your every mealtime whim.
Captain Dave has a magnificent story to tell guests about his 'blue feet'. When you are onboard relaxing during one of your happy hours ask Captain Dave to sit down and tell you about his 'blue feet'. His feet were a royal blue from the top of his ankles down
