British, 49 years of age. Mark has more than twenty years experience and over 100,000 miles as Captain on different types of vessels, both sail and motor, up to 50m, including as many as twelve ocean crossings. Mark also has experience in various yards of new yacht builds and refits. Marks’s previous Captaincies include super yachts such as PHOCEA, PRINCESS MARLA, FLYING EAGLE and MIRABELLA. Mark is a keen kite-surfer in his spare time.
CHIEF ENGINEER – FREDRIK REMSTEDT
French, 36 years of age. Fredrik’s background is in the commercial world, having worked on tankers, ferries and explorer vessels. He thrives on a challenge being of a curious nature and loves solving a problem. Fredrik is married to Malin and loves mountaineering, trekking and sailing.
2ND ENGINEER – MARTIN KRODEL
German, 46 years of age. Martin is a specialist in electrical equipment and has spent a number of years working on yachts both on charter and during refit. Martin’s interests include skiing, catamaran sailing and used he to teach and compete in white water canoeing.
CHEF – KAWANA KINGI
New Zealand, 41 years old. Kawana has worked throughout New Zealand and Australia for the past 22 years. His experience ranges from French-style bistro, to seafood, to exquisite fine dining, including working in New Zealand’ leading restaurant in Auckland. Kawana is sure to provide you with a variety of the highest quality cuisine.
FIRST MATE – LAZ CZIRAKI
British, 36 years of age. Laz has a varied background in yachting ranging from being a sailing instructor in Wales to being skipper onboard a 20m yacht, where he performed every role onboard the yacht, as he was the only crew member! He loves skiing and cruising around on his Harley Davidson. Laz can speak a little French.
CHIEF STEWARD – MURRAY TREBES
Australian, 42 years of age. Murray has had many years of experience on large charter and private yachts, cruising extensively throughout the Mediterranean, Europe, the Caribbean and the United States. He came to the yachting industry after working as a personal valet and in a five star, award winning restaurant. Murray has an infectious drive and likes to ‘get the job done’. Guests are provided with a comfortable and personalised service and Murray has great attention to detail. He is a keen swimmer.
BOSUN – CAMERON LAMSHED
Australian, 28 years old. Cameron’s experience of yachts is varied and includes repainting, varnishing and general maintenance. He has an easy going nature. Cameron’s qualifications include a Certificate in First Aid. He enjoys travelling and also the mountains.
2ND STEWARD – SYLVESTER MARINOV
Swedish, 29 years of age. Sylvester has a great deal of hotel and catering experience behind him. He started his working life as a waiter, working in Greece and Turkey in hotels and restaurants. In 1990 he owned a nightclub and casino in Bulgaria and has since managed restaurants and hotels in Bulgaria and Sweden. He speaks Russian, Greek, Turkish, Bulgarian, Swedish and English. His knowledge of the tourism industry hugely benefits and compliments the crew onboard.
STEWARDESS – HELEN COVENY
New Zealand, 25 years old. Helen graduated from the University Otago in 2000 with a Batchelor of Physical Education. Her love of sailing started at an early age as she was brought up on the water with family holidays spent on her parents sailing yacht. She has worked with a diverse range of clients and has had experience with Silver Service for Corporate functions as well as volunteer work for the America True support crew during the America’s Cup 2000. Helen is also interested in keep fit and holds a PADI Advanced Open Water Certificate.
STEWARDESS – ANNA TAYLOR
New Zealand, 25 years old. Helen graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2001 with a Master of Science in Psychology. She has a variety of experience within the tourism and service industry, ranging from childcare in a British public school, to bar service and waitressing, to working on yachts. Anna is organized and conscientious and speaks basic French. Anna loves travelling and is a keen water-skier.
DECKHAND – DUNCAN STEPHENSON
South African, 22 years old. Duncan has tried his hand at a variety of jobs within the hospitality industry before moving onto the water, including work on SLIPSTREAM and PEGASUS. He is an experienced sailor having raced a number of dinghies around the South African coast whilst also training on a 67ft Challenge Classic. Duncan has numerous qualifications including RYA Offshore Yachtmaster, RYA Coastal Skipper, Oceanmaster and Yachtmaster Theory, First Aid at Sea and PADI Open Water Diver. He loves the outdoor life particularly cycling and white-water rafting.
DECKHAND – MARTIN ABERG
Swedish, 22 years old. Martin’s passion has always been sailing, particularly elite athletic, match and fleet racing. Martin has worked on the 65m WEDGE TOO and has sailing instructor experience. He speaks English, Swedish and some German.
DECKHAND – ANTHONY REGNAULT
New Zealand, 24 years old. Anthony has worked on a number of yachts ranging from the 27m MOONDANCE to the 71m LEANDER, encompassing both the commercial and private side of yachting. He is an internationally qualified ski instructor, has rowed competitively for five years in all types of boats and has also done a great deal of river and open water jet-boating. Anthony speaks basic German and basic Spanish.
