Don Lessels is a highly respected and experienced captain (holder of a MCA Class IV). He has sailed many oceans for over 25 years. Don has been a Master of four Perini Navi vessels one of which, ANDROMEDA LA DEA 47m, on a 50,000-mile world tour with her owners. Don’s excellent knowledge of navigation and sail handling will fill you with confidence. He has an outgoing personality and is an excellent team leader for his energetic crew.
FIRST MATE CHRIS BARKHAM AUSTRALIAN 33 YRS
Chris has been sailing professionally worldwide for the past 11 years. His last vessel was a 25m sloop PHILOSOPHIA and prior to that a 43m square rigged-ship named ONE & All. His experience is wide and varied having sailed the Med, Pacific, Caribbean and Indian Ocean. Chris holds a Master Class MCA IV Certificate and is a qualified boat builder rounding off his chosen profession. He is easy going and approachable with keen interests in all outdoor activities. It is his aim to make his guest's stay as comfortable as possible.
Hobbies include: Music, sports and all outdoors activities.
CHIEF ENGINEER SEAN MCNALLY AUSTRALIAN 31 YRS
From as young as eight years old Sean starting on his family boats. He has worked within the yachting industry for last three years. Prior to joining ATMOSPHERE he worked on THETIS, FREEDOM and WALLY B. He previously spent over seven years on large commercial vessels. Sean has an extensive knowledge of the engineering department as he has three degrees in Marine Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Computer Science.
Sean enjoys yachting, as he loves everything to do with yachts, the ocean and finds that the scope to learn endless. He likes the everyday diversity and challenges of engineering.

BOSUN ANNA SPARROW AUSTRALIAN 31 YRS
Anna’s sailing career began back in 1991, having spent most of her life on various floating crafts, including instructing water sports. Studying to obtain a Master Class IV has strengthened her interest in a profession on the sea. Anna has worked on 130’ S/Y CYRANO DE BERGERAC, and 33m M/Y MALDONE. Whilst working on yachts she has cruised the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Pacific regions. Her warm smile and approachable personality will ensure everyone feels welcome and comfortable both in and on water.
Hobbies includes: Snorkelling, swimming and cycling.
2nd ENGINEER/DECKHAND STUART MOORE NEW ZEALANDER 29 YRS
Stuart previously worked on LA NATURELLE DEE, IVANA and EL CIGNO and has been in the industry for two years. Stuart loves to meet new and exciting people and enjoys everything to do with boats especially the feeling of being out on the open ocean.
Hobbies: All kinds of water sports especially wakeboarding, water-skiing and surfing.
DECKHAND BEN THORN AUSTRALIAN 32 YRS
Ben’s sailing experience started at childhood, sailing recreationally in the beautiful waters surrounding Australia. He started in the industry four years ago, and has worked on charter yachts M/Y LADY ANN OF FIFE (38m) and S/Y MASA YUME (27m). This combination of sailing and motor yachts puts Ben in a great stead for sailing and service aboard ATMOSPHERE. Having practised most water sports, he is set for any guests ‘water sports experience’. Ben has a smiley and outgoing personality, good sense of humour and is keen to ensure the guests will have a brilliant cruise.
Hobbies include: Windsurfing, water-skiing, and enjoys a multitude of other water sports.
DECKHAND JOHN NELLIGAN NEW ZEALANDER 26 YRS
John grew up around the ocean and yachts from a very young age in Auckland Harbour. John loves all kinds of water sports and is finding yachting a new and exciting challenge. With this enthusiasm for his work he ensures the guests are well taken care off.
STEWARDESS/SOUS CHEF ELENA MARCHETTI ITALIAN 26 YRS
Elena has been in the yachting industry for four years having previously worked on LIBERTY, FELISITA WEST, TAMSEN and THETIS to name but a few. She loves yachting as it gives her the chance to imporove her already brilliant multi-language skills as she speaks English, Italian, French and Spanish. Meeting new people from all different walks of life gives her the perfect opportunity to do just this. Elena comes from a hospitality background and has an exceptional eye for detail in every field of her work.
STEWARDESS ISABELLA LEGAL FRENCH 30 YRS
Isabella brings a great amount of experience to ATMOSPHERE having worked in some of the best restaurants and Casinos in London i.e The Ritz Club, Les Ambassadeurs and 50 St James. Being a delightful young lady with an experienced background Isabelle has found her transition into yachting an easy breeze. Isabelle is also a trained masseuse and speaks fluent English.
STEWARDESS SHELLEY HOWARD BRITISH 23 YRS
Shelley loves the everyday challenges of yachting and the opportunities it gives, she is originally from a travel and hospitality background and thoroughly enjoys looking after guests and organising their trip on board insuring it will be the best they will ever have. After three years in yachting Shelley is no stranger to the rigorous demands that come with a large busy charter boat. She brings with her, a professional yet relaxed approach that ensure you have the best time possible on board ATMOSPHERE. Shelley previously worked on LIBERTAD, MAFFY BLUE and ZENOBIA before joining ATMOSPHERE.
